Muehlenbeckia is een geslacht uit de duizendknoopfamilie (Polygonaceae). De soorten komen voor van Papoeazië tot in Australazië en van (sub)tropisch Noord-Amerika tot in zuidelijk Zuid-Amerika.^[1] Het geslacht is vernoemd naar de Franse botanicus Heinrich Gustav Mühlenbeck.
